TUIDE held a showcase for the release of its 1st mini album ‘TUNE & PLAY’ at YES24 Live Hall on the 24th. On this day, YI HANI said, “When we first saw the choreography draft, we were so moved that we all ended up in tears.”

 

YI HANI shared, “When I first saw the choreography draft for SUN KISS, the performance was so good, and it felt like I was seeing a gift that suited us so well,” adding, “The fact that we would be able to show such a wonderful stage felt truly overwhelming, and I remember that feeling made all of us cry together.”

 

Introducing the title track ‘SUN KISS,’ JIA said, “It is a song that best shows not only the color of our seven-member team, but also all seven members,” adding, “It is a song filled with the seven members’ voices, capturing free-spirited desire and pleasant energy under sparkling sunlight.” ELENA added, “When I first heard it, I felt that it was very unique and fresh,” adding, “Because it has such a clear charm point and makes you want to keep listening again, I had confidence that once it came out into the world, it would become a song people could add to their playlists.”

 

The performance was also prepared with plenty to see. SEOYEON said, “We prepared it with the hope that the move of the seven of us freely running around under the sunlight would come across naturally on stage,” adding, “Since the choreography itself flows mainly through groove movements that show each person’s individuality well, we thought hard about everything from our expressions and gestures to even our breathing.” SEOHEE introduced it by saying, “Its characteristic is that each member moves freely while maintaining the overall balance through delicate sensory control,” adding, “After the chorus, there is a point choreography where we gently press downward with both hands. We controlled the movement and gathered our energy so that all eyes could be drawn to one point.”

 

GroovyRoom took charge of producing the debut album. SEOHEE said, “We also grew up listening to the music of producer GroovyRoom, so it was an honor,” adding, “They helped us a lot so that we could make sounds freely.” She continued, “They told us that since each member has a different and distinctive vocal tone, we do not need to try to create something new, and that the team’s charm comes through well when we express ourselves naturally as we are,” adding, “I also thought that those words seemed to be TUIDE’s team identity.”

 

Regarding her debut, SEOHEE said, “I am excited to show TUIDE to the world starting today,” adding, “I am in charge of clear and unique vocals and clean dance lines, and as the eldest member, I would be grateful if you also paid attention to the unnie-like side of me that handles everything properly.” SEAH shared, “I am very excited to make the debut I had dreamed of,” adding, “I want to delight the eyes and ears of the public with refreshing performances.”

 

TUIDE is a seven-member girl group consisting of SEOHEE, SEOYEON, ELENA, JIA, SAKI, SEAH, and YI HANI, and is the first artist from HYBE’s new girl group-specialized label abd. Like the team name, which means “Tune the tide,” the group is determined to add a pleasant rhythm to the public’s everyday lives with its own sensibility. Even before its debut, TUIDE made its presence known by pre-releasing the B-side track ‘GRLS’ and having its ‘Meet my GRLS, TUIDE’ video enter the Top 10 of Spotify’s “Global Music Video” chart for two consecutive weeks.

 

The 1st mini album ‘TUNE & PLAY’ is an album that condenses the power of “harmony” created by the seven members. It contains a total of five songs, including the title track ‘SUN KISS,’ as well as ‘ABD,’ ‘Echo,’ ‘Flip-Flop Girl,’ and ‘GRLS,’ with GroovyRoom producing all tracks. Centered on “soultronic,” which combines the warm sentiment of soul with the sophistication of electronic music, the album flexibly moves across various genres such as R&B, house, and UK garage.
