[Hanteo News = Reporter KANG SUYOUNG] AtHeart’s BOM shared the meaning behind the remake of Roo’Ra’s hit song ‘3!4!’

AtHeart held a production presentation for the multi-form drama <3+4!> and a showcase commemorating the release of its single ‘3!4!’ at RYSE, Autograph Collection, on the 19th. On this day, BOM said, “We had a sense of mission, responsibility, and excitement about doing Roo’Ra’s 3!4!, which received so much love, again.”

Regarding the Time Travel Project, BOM said, “By remaking a song from 30 years ago, I think we are playing the role of a medium that connects today’s generation with the generation of the past, so I think it was very meaningful,” adding, “As we remake ‘Say It,’ a song that received a lot of love in the U.S., and ‘3!4!,’ a song that received a lot of love in Korea, one after another, we feel a lot of responsibility and excitement about being able to bring songs that were greatly loved across generations.”

Asked how they felt when they first heard about the remake, she said, “It was a song ARIN would sometimes play when we were practicing the basics among ourselves, and when we heard the news that we would be remaking it, all the members were so happy.”

Regarding the pressure of remaking a famous song, MICHI said, “Because 3!4! is such a famous song, there was pressure,” adding, “We wanted to preserve the original song well while also adding a lot of AtHeart’s own color.”

Regarding the difference between AtHeart’s version and Roo’Ra’s version, NAHYUN explained, “I think the members’ vocals are the biggest difference,” adding, “Because each member has a different vocal tone, the way we expressed 3!4! was also very different.” She added, “Our own 3!4! is similar to the original song, but we also added AtHeart’s lovely and bright charm, so I think you will be able to feel many different charms.”

Regarding original creator Lee Hyun-do’s participation in the arrangement, ARIN said, “We were not able to meet Lee Hyun-do sunbaenim, but we still think it is an honor just that he wrote the song for us and helped us.” Regarding advice from original singer Chae Rina, SEOHYEON shared, “When she heard that the 3!4! song would be released, she congratulated us sincerely and said she really hoped it would rank No. 1 on the music charts.”

Regarding the choreography, ARIN said, “Because it is mixed with the original choreography of Roo’Ra sunbaenim’s 3!4!, the basics are important,” adding, “The beat was faster than expected, so it was difficult to dance the movements properly in line with the bounce.” She continued, “Because it is a dance where small details like the angle of our hands or the hidden hand are important, we paid a lot of attention to those details.” Regarding the challenge, she said, “Chae Rina sunbaenim helped and participated in the choreography for NAHYUN’s part in the chorus,” adding, “So I think it is even more meaningful.”

AtHeart, which debuted in August 2025, is a seven-member girl group consisting of MICHI, ARIN, KATELYN, BOM, SEOHYEON, AURORA, and NAHYUN. With “twist” as its keyword, the group has showcased intense yet graceful performances and earned the modifier “the heart of the 5th generation.” The group is currently carrying out its “Time Travel Project,” which reinterprets hit songs from 1996 that were greatly loved both in Korea and abroad. Following its first single ‘Say It,’ which recreated The Cardigans’ ‘Lovefool,’ AtHeart is now presenting its second single.

The second single ‘3!4!’ is a reinterpretation of Roo’Ra’s hit song, which received great love upon its release in 1996, through AtHeart’s own sensibility. Original creator Lee Hyun-do personally participated in the arrangement, preserving the refreshing charm of the original song based on new jack swing while adding trendy sensibility and the seven members’ distinct vocal colors to complete a new energy.

AtHeart’s second single ‘3!4!’ will be released through various online music sites at 6 PM on this day. Attention is focused on what kind of new response AtHeart, time travelers who transcend a 30-year gap, will create with this single.
