FLARE U’s CHUEI LI YU shared the warm support he received from a senior artist ahead of his debut.

 

FLARE U held a showcase on the 13th at Blue Square Woori WON Banking Hall to commemorate the release of their new song “WAY 2 U.” On this day, CHUEI LI YU shared the warm support he received from N.Flying’s SEUNG HYUB.

 

Regarding support from senior artists at his agency, CHUEI LI YU recalled, “All the senior artists at the company are so kind, and whenever we run into them at the company building, they greet us warmly,” adding, “After N.Flying’s fan meeting, I went to a company dinner they were having and greeted them, and SEUNG HYUB gave me such good advice. He also gave me his contact and told me to reach out whenever I need, so it was a warm moment.” KANG WOO JIN added, “We appeared on a radio show with P1Harmony, and although I was very nervous, I was grateful because they led us well and took good care of us.”

 

FLARE U is a duo group made up of CHUEI LI YU and KANG WOO JIN, who were recognized for their skills and potential through Mnet’s “Boys 2 Planet,” which aired last year. The two received much love from fans throughout the program for their extraordinary teamwork, and afterward, they continued to support each other by visiting each other’s fan meeting venues before finally coming together as one team. Ahead of their debut, they also took the stage at “KCON JAPAN 2026” and met global fans for the first time.

 

Their debut album “YOUTH ERROR” is an album that contains the record of two youths who make mistakes, fall down, and each carry different errors. The title track “WAY 2 U” captures the excitement in the process of moving from friends to lovers, while the album includes a total of six songs, including the B-sides “Hyper” and “WOO-HOO,” delivering FLARE U’s unique youthful energy.

 

KANG WOO JIN said, “Our role models are AKMU,” adding, “I have long thought that I wanted to resemble the way they enjoy performing on stage and write songs with their own stories.” CHUEI LI YU also shared, “I really respect and like AKMU as well,” adding, “Since we can receive comfort through music, we also want to become musicians like that.”

 

When asked which artist he would like to film a challenge with, CHUEI LI YU said, “Personally, I have been a longtime fan of TWICE, so I hope that after debuting, I can film one with them at least once,” adding, “I think I would feel like I had succeeded after filming it.” He also added, “I have seen other artists film and upload challenges with company staff, so I also want to film one with HAN SUNG HO, our company’s executive producer.” Director HAN SUNG HO is the founder and representative producer of FNC Entertainment, to which FLARE U belongs, and is also the composer of every song included in “YOUTH ERROR.”

 

Regarding the new strengths they discovered in each other, CHUEI LI YU said, “During BOYS 2 PLANET, WOO JIN felt very much like a younger brother, cute and clingy, but after becoming a team, I found that he is more dependable than I expected and takes good care of me.” KANG WOO JIN shared, “Before BOYS 2 PLANET, I thought he looked like a high school student and was cute, but while living together, I came to think a lot that he is much more professional and mature than I expected.”

 

CHUEI LI YU said, “Rather than a concept, we want to show a lot of our own story.” KANG WOO JIN shared, “I want to tell my own story,” adding, “We are also trying to compose songs together at our dorm.” KANG WOO JIN pledged, “Going forward, even if we are not perfect, we will become a sincere FLARE U.”

 

FLARE U’s first mini album “YOUTH ERROR” will be released through various online music sites at 6 p.m. on this day. Expectations are high for what kind of presence FLARE U, the “youth visual duo” newly appearing in the K-pop scene, will imprint with their first album.
