[Hanteo News = Reporter KANG SUYOUNG] AHOF continues the narrative of youth that has grown even stronger with its third mini album.
AHOF held a showcase at YES24 Live Hall on the 8th to commemorate the release of its third mini album, “RUN TO YOU,” and shared stories about the new album.
AHOF, which debuted in July 2025, is a group that has quickly grown its presence with music that represents youth and sincere messages. On the eighth day after its debut, the group won its first music show No. 1 on “The Show,” and on the 11th day after its debut, it won its first terrestrial music show No. 1 on “Music Bank,” showing a strength unlike that of a rookie. After recording 360,985 copies in initial chodong sales with its debut album, “WHO WE ARE,” AHOF achieved 389,904 copies with its second mini album, “The Passage,” breaking its own initial chodong sales record. The third mini album, “RUN TO YOU,” is the group’s first new release in eight months, and it shows a stronger side of AHOF by capturing youth that moves forward without hesitation, with certainty in their own emotions. The album contains a total of five tracks, including the title track of the same name, “RUN TO YOU,” the pre-release track “Sugar High,” “JUST SAY YES,” “You're the reason,” and “Our Story.”
The conversation continued with the title track, “RUN TO YOU.” STEVEN said, “When we first heard the demo, all nine of us really liked it, and we even said that it felt like it would be a hit,” adding, “When we first received the demo for the title track, I got the feeling of a summer song from the melody.” He introduced the song by saying, “While watching the music video, there were many scenes of us running, and there were many points where we were drinking refreshing drinks in the hot summer weather, sweating, laughing, and having a good time together, so I think we expressed a refreshing feeling,” adding, “It is a song that can help you beat the heat.” CHA WOONGKI said of the album, “It is an album that captures our firm hearts and certainty as we go straight toward only one person,” adding, “I think the title track ‘RUN TO YOU’ is the song that can express that feeling the best.” STEVEN added, “If we previously captured the growth process of youth, this time, we tried to include a masculine and mature charm through the clear expression of going straight ahead.” When asked who the “YOU” in the song title refers to, PARK HAN explained, “The ‘you’ mentioned in the song does not actually refer to a specific person. It could be someone you love, or it could be something you sincerely want to love, like a dream or goal,” adding, “I think it will be a song that you can relate to even more if you listen while thinking of the ‘you’ that is most precious to each of you.”
Regarding the point choreography, PARK JUWON explained, “The concept of the performance is AHOF’s own youth,” adding, “It is not simply choreography that expresses the act of running, but choreography that incorporates AHOF’s journey of moving forward while crossing from one space to another.” He added, “The point choreography is the part where we place our hands on each other’s shoulders and express it as if we are walking alternately, and it carries the meaning of walking together as two.”
The lyric-writing process for the fan song “Our Story” was also revealed. CHA WOONGKI said, “Since it is a fan song, I wanted to convey the emotions and sincerity I felt toward the fans exactly as they were,” adding, “As I lay on the second-floor bed at the dorm, closed my eyes, and kept thinking about the memories I had with the fans, I think pretty inspirations naturally came to me.” PARK JUWON said, “I tend to write a lot of lyrics and try to make a lot of songs, and writing lyrics for AHOF’s music was truly my goal,” adding, “I was even happier that the song I participated in was a fan song, and I wrote the lyrics while opening up one by one the feelings I had carefully packed away from missing POOH over the past eight months.”
They also opened up about difficult moments during the album preparation process. SEO JEONGWOO said, “There were times when all of us struggled together while preparing this album, but each time, we encouraged one another and I think we became able to fill in each other’s shortcomings more,” adding, “The moment that remains in my memory is how, whenever we saw someone struggling, we approached them without hesitation and comforted them.” When asked in more detail about the difficult moments, SEO JEONGWOO said, “We were also preparing for the tour at the same time, and I wanted to go into filming after becoming fully familiar with the choreography, but because various shoots were scheduled while we were not yet ready, I personally felt that I was lacking a lot, and I think the members had similar thoughts, so we struggled a lot.” He explained, “Still, we worked really hard to the point of practicing even after going to Japan, and we overcame it by doing our best to show our best side,” adding, “I remember booking a practice room and practicing on the day we moved to Tokyo in the middle of our concert schedule.”
When asked about AHOF’s secret to popularity, DAISUKE said, “Since there are five foreign members, I think we receive a lot of love from foreign fans because we are a team made up of members with different cultures and good points.” ZHU EN said, “The title track ‘RUN TO YOU’ contains refreshing energy that suits the summer well, while the pre-release track ‘Sugar High’ shows a masculine and hip-hop side, so I think AHOF’s charm is that we can show many different sides.” PARK HAN said, “In the case of ‘Sugar High,’ the song itself is very intense and powerful, so we thought it would be a good opportunity to naturally expand and show the various charms we have.” SEO JEONGWOO said, “This album contains everything from AHOF’s refreshing side to our intense side, so we would be grateful if you watched both the sides of us that you are familiar with and the grown side of AHOF.”
They also shared their thoughts on their first anniversary and their goals for this promotion. PARK JUWON said, “When I look back on the past year, I think time has gone by really quickly,” adding, “We have made so many memories with the fans over the past year, and I am looking forward in my heart to how many more good memories we will make in the future.” STEVEN said, “The biggest change I felt over the past year is teamwork,” adding, “As we continued our activities, we came to understand each other’s strengths better, and we became a team that naturally fills in each other’s shortcomings.” JL said, “Whenever we receive a trophy on stage, I feel like it is a result we have achieved, so I am really happy,” adding, “This time, I want to win No. 1 on a music show.” PARK HAN said, “I am happy to make a comeback with a good song after eight months,” adding, “Regardless of album sales, I think I will be satisfied if many people love our music.” CHA WOONGKI said, “I want to set a big goal,” adding, “I hope AHOF’s ‘RUN TO YOU’ echoes everywhere.”
AHOF’s third mini album, “RUN TO YOU,” will be released through various online music sites at 6 p.m. on this day. Attention is focused on whether AHOF will be able to break its initial chodong sales record once again with this album, following its previous release.
