On the 8th, a message reading “REBORN·REBOOT·REUNITE” was posted on UNB’s official X (formerly Twitter) account along with a logo image. Fans in Korea and abroad cheered all at once and could not hide their surprise, responding, “UNB is making a comeback?” and “Is a UNB comeback really happening in 2026?”
However, the post was later deleted from the official account, and rumors spread that it had been posted by mistake due to an employee error, bringing the incident to an end as a happening. Fans expressed deep disappointment with reactions such as, “Why was it deleted? UNB should reunite too, why not?” and “Come back, my youth.”
UNB is a nine-member boy group that includes LEE JUNYOUNG, who is currently active as an actor, and was formed through KBS 2TV’s survival program 'Idol Rebooting Project - The Unit.' The lineup consists of LEE JUNYOUNG, who was then a member of U-KISS; Euijin of BIGFLO; Feeldog of BIGSTAR; Daewon of MADTOWN; Marco of HBY; Go Hojung of HOTSHOT; Ji Hansol, formerly of SM ROOKIES; and Kang Yuchan of A.C.E and Kim Kijoong of IM.
They debuted on April 7, 2018, with their 1st mini album 'BOYHOOD' and released a total of two albums, up to their 2nd mini album 'BLACK HEART,' before wrapping up official activities with a concert in Japan in 2019.
Amid expectations for a reunion rising and then fading, remarks from member Euijin on the same day helped calm fans. On the 8th, during a live broadcast on his personal SNS, Euijin said, “There has been talk of a reunion,” adding, “Last time, I had a gathering with the UNB members and we talked. Everyone wants to do it.”
However, he added, “Realistically, coordination is needed, and each member has an agency, while some members are currently active, so nothing has been confirmed yet,” while raising fans’ expectations by saying, “But our hearts are one, and we are ready to jump in at any time.”
Earlier in May, the members except LEE JUNYOUNG gathered together and spent an enjoyable time, and a video of it was released, drawing attention. Fans expressed regret, saying it seemed LEE JUNYOUNG could not attend due to his personal schedule.
LEE JUNYOUNG also moved fans by performing choreography from a UNB-era song during a segment at his fan meeting in 2025. Fans reacted emotionally, saying, “He does not deny his idol days, and he has not forgotten a single bit of choreography from a song six years ago.”
Even at this moment, messages from fans who miss them continue to pour into the comment sections of UNB’s music videos. Whether they will make a comeback remains undecided, but one thing is clear: no matter the situation, fans always remember and wait for them.
Amid the recent trend of more singers making comebacks after long hiatuses, there is hope that this atmosphere will also give UNB the courage to stand on stage again. Much support and anticipation are gathering for UNB’s future moves.
