Building on the international influence she established through BLACKPINK, JISOO has continued developing her own musical identity as a solo artist, revealing a bolder, more intense side of herself through her latest release.

Released on October 30, ‘ADDICTED’ is the second pre-release single from JISOO's first full-length solo album. Following ‘CLICK’, which was unveiled in September, the new track explores the emotions of being irresistibly drawn to someone and gradually falling deeper under their spell. The song expresses the sweet yet intoxicating thrill of love through JISOO's distinctive style.

The track is driven by powerful beats and an addictive sound. The contrast between JISOO's lower and higher vocal registers is particularly striking, while a rap section toward the end introduces an unexpected change in atmosphere. JISOO personally participated in writing the lyrics and arranging the song, further incorporating her own musical identity into the release. Global producers including Jack Brady, Jordan Roman, and Sol Was also contributed to the track, enhancing its overall production.

The performance is another key element that brings the song's intense atmosphere to life. Choreographer LEEJUNG participated in creating the choreography, incorporating dynamic movements that follow the beat and emphasize the track's energy.

In the music video, JISOO showcases a striking transformation through bold, cat-inspired styling and visuals that differ from her previous concepts. An underwater performance adds to the mysterious, visually captivating atmosphere, drawing viewers further into the song's world.

‘ADDICTED’ has also achieved notable results on global charts. As of reports published on November 3, the song had reached No. 1 on iTunes Top Songs charts in 28 regions and topped the iTunes Worldwide Songs chart.

It also entered Apple Music's Top Songs charts in 15 regions and appeared on Spotify's Daily Top Songs Global chart. On China's QQ Music, the track claimed No. 1 on the digital sales, fastest-rising, and trending charts.

The music video also reached No. 1 on YouTube's Worldwide Trending Music Videos chart, demonstrating the strong interest of fans around the world.

While the previously released ‘CLICK’ highlighted a fresh, sophisticated side of JISOO, ‘ADDICTED’ takes a different direction with a darker, more powerful mood. By presenting contrasting musical styles and performances in succession, JISOO is expanding her range of expression as a solo artist.

JISOO began establishing her individual musical identity with her solo debut single ‘FLOWER’ in 2023. Last year, she released her first solo mini-album ‘AMORTAGE’ and expanded her global influence with ‘EYES CLOSED’, a collaboration with pop star ZAYN that entered Billboard's main singles chart, the Hot 100.

This year, she has been preparing her first full-length solo album while gradually unveiling its pre-release singles.

JISOO has also remained active as an actress alongside her musical career. Beyond the recognition she has earned as a BLACKPINK member, she continues to establish an increasingly distinct identity as a solo artist.

As she showcases different sides of herself through both music and acting, anticipation is growing for how JISOO will further expand her artistic world by exploring new genres and creative possibilities.
