[Initial Chodong Record] NCT DREAM Becomes Initial Chodong Million Seller with the Album 'Hot Sauce' (Hanteo Chart Official) "5th in Initial Chodong Record rankings + 600,000 copies growth + the youngest million seller → Proves their position as one of the major-league K-pop artists"

Group NCT DREAM officially achieved the record of a million-seller in the Initial Chodong sales amount.

 

On the morning of May 17th, Hanteo Chart, the world's one-and-only real-time chart, has officially counted and announced that NCT DREAM's 1st Studio Album 'Hot Sauce' has recorded the Initial Chodong (first week of release) sales amount of 1,010,766 copies.

 

Released on May 10th, Hot Sauce has recorded 671,396 copies in sales on the first day of the release, already setting the group's new record. The group's previous high in Initial Chodong record was 412,458 copies set by the 4th Mini Album 'RELOAD' released on April 29th, 2020. The latest album has set the new record with the sales amount of more than nearly 260,000 copies of the previous record just on the first day.

 

The album was sold 89,472 copies on the 11th, 68,485 copies on the 12th, 36,995 copies on the 13th, 71,241 copies on the 14th, 5,796 copies on the 15th, and 67,381 copies on the 16th, surpassing 1 million copies in cumulative sales on the 7th day of the release. Also, with the steady high sales, the album has placed 1st in Hanteo Chart's Daily Album Rankings for the entire 7 days since its release.

 

At around 8:20 PM on May 16th, NCT DREAM's 'Hot Sauce' album has reached a million-seller, which made NCT DREAM the third artist to become a million-seller with Initial Chodong sales after BTS and SEVENTEEN.

 

They also ranked their name in 5th place in the Initial Chodong sales rankings of all time. Currently, in the 1st to 3rd places in the rankings are BTS's albums and in 4th place SEVENTEEN's. NCT DREAM's 'Hot Sauce' ranked 5th and BTS's album in the 6th, which makes a total of 6 albums set the record of 1 million copies in Initial Chodong sales amount.

 

Moreover, when they reached their first million-seller, the average ages of these groups were: BTS 23.48 years old, SEVENTEEN 23.45 years old, and NCT DREAM 20.63 years old. This makes NCT DREAM the youngest group to reach a million-seller in K-pop's history.

 

Especially, NCT DREAM has demonstrated 2.45 times the growth in Initial Chodong sales compared to the previous group, and the increased album sales amounted to 590,308 copies. The record proved the group's position as one of the major-league K-pop artists and also made the public look forward to their future performances and promotions.

 

After 8:20 PM on May 16th when NCT DREAM achieved a million-seller, the real-time trending hashtags included '#NCTDREAM1MAlbumsParty' and '#엔시티_드림_밀리언셀러_축하해' (trans: NCT DREAM Congratulations on Million Seller') with numerous congratulatory messages among the fans. Also, Hanteo Chart announced that they will be issuing the 1M Initial Chodong sales certificate to NCT DREAM who achieved more than 1 million copies in Initial Chodong sales.

 

After their comeback, NCT DREAM is currently actively promoting in music shows with 'Hot Sauce,' the title track of the same name with the album, and 'Dive Into You,' one of the B-side tracks.
