[Hanteo News = Reporter JUNG JUNHWA] SHINee’s MINHO, under SM ENTERTAINMENT, makes his comeback today (7th) with his 2nd mini album ‘Make it hot.’

 

This album consists of a total of six songs, including the title track ‘Make it hot.’ Just like its title, the album captures MINHO’s signature “hot” energy that will add to the heat of late summer, as well as deeper emotions, allowing listeners to experience MINHO’s diverse musical world.

 

The title track ‘Make it hot’ is a pop dance song with EDM sounds. Exotic percussion rhythms, heavy bass, and passionate chorus melodies come together to create an intense sense of immersion. The lyrics intuitively express the emotions of being drawn to one another and growing closer in the hot air, raising anticipation for a positive response.

 

All tracks from this album will be released on various music sites today at 6 PM, and the music video for the title track ‘Make it hot’ will also be released simultaneously on YouTube’s SMTOWN channel. Ahead of that, ‘MINHO 【Make it hot】 Countdown Live’ will be held through SHINee’s official YouTube channel starting at 5 PM.

 

The following is a Q&A about MINHO’s 2nd mini album ‘Make it hot.’

 

Q. This is your comeback nine months after the single ‘TEMPO,’ released last December. Please briefly share how you feel.

 

A. I sincerely thank the precious fans who have waited for me. This album was able to come out thanks to all of you. I would be truly grateful if you listen to ‘Make it hot’ a lot and support this promotion as well.

 

Q. Until now, your solo album releases, concerts, and fan meetings have mainly taken place in winter. This time, you are releasing an album in late summer, so it must feel different.

 

A. Until now, I released albums in winter, when my birthday is, almost like gifts for fans, so I had always been curious about what it would be like to make a comeback in summer instead of winter. I also wanted to present a song with a hot and fiery performance. I am happy that an album that suits both me and the season was created.

Q. Many people are saying that the album and title track name are “MINHO itself,” because when people think of MINHO, “passionate, hot energy” immediately comes to mind. Aside from “passion” and “hot energy,” is there another way to describe ‘Make it hot’?

 

A. I think it would be difficult without the word hot. (Laughs) I would like to call it “an album filled with my strengths” and “burning heat.” It contains the hot energy and heat that radiate from me.

 

Q. You reportedly chose ‘Make it hot’ as the title track as soon as you heard it. What drew you to it the most? Also, what did you consider most important when recording this title track or preparing the performance?

 

A. When I first heard ‘Make it hot,’ I thought it was a song that resembled me a lot. I felt that the energy I have and the energy contained in this song were the same. I thought I should fill it with the maximum energy I can give. For the performance as well, I prepared with the mindset of putting all my strength into this one song.

 

Q. Through your YouTube channel “CHOI MINHO,” you have been showing a wide range of sports content, and “SM Run,” which will be held this October, also began with “SM London Run,” led by MINHO. Sports has become an inseparable keyword from MINHO. How are sports connected to your “main job,” and how did they influence you while preparing this album?

 

A. Sports are a hobby that always give me positive strength. When I get tired from work, fall into deep thoughts, or feel stressed, exercising gives me new energy to move forward again. So while preparing this album, I also gained a lot of strength through exercise. I think it is something I absolutely cannot leave out of my life now.

 

Q. What is making MINHO the “hottest” these days?

 

A. Preparing for my comeback. I poured everything I have into this album, so as the comeback gets closer, I am burning hotter and hotter.

 

Q. You have been carrying out diverse activities in 2026 as well. How do you plan to spend the rest of the year “hotly”?

 

A. I want to spend it hotly with my fans. I will work passionately without stopping.

 

Q. Lastly, please say a word to the fans who always support you.

 

A. I sincerely thank you for always waiting for and supporting my activities. The reason I can continue moving forward is because of my fans. Thank you for giving me courage and hope. You are always my hope. I will burn passionately during this promotion as well. Please look forward to it passionately too.
