[Hanteo News = Reporter KANG SUYOUNG] Busan is especially busy this year. Three HYBE-affiliated teams are visiting the city one after another.
BTS held 'BTS WORLD TOUR 'ARIRANG' IN BUSAN' at Busan Asiad Main Stadium on the 12th and 13th. It was the group’s first Busan concert in about three years and eight months, and coinciding with the team’s debut date of June 13, it met around 110,000 attendees. BOYNEXTDOOR will hold its first solo concert in Busan at Sajik Indoor Gymnasium on August 1 and 2. As part of its first world tour 'KNOCK ON Vol.2,' which begins at Seoul’s KSPO DOME on July 17, the group is set to visit Busan for the first time since debut. ENHYPEN will also hold 'ENHYPEN WORLD TOUR 'BLOOD SAGA' IN BUSAN' at the same venue on August 8 and 9. It will take place at the same Sajik Indoor Gymnasium one week after BOYNEXTDOOR’s Busan concert. 'BLOOD SAGA' is ENHYPEN’s largest tour to date, spanning 35 shows in 22 cities around the world.
The reason Busan is being called on so frequently is no coincidence. According to the '2025 Performance Market Ticket Sales Status Analysis Report' published by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Busan ranked No. 1 among cities outside the Seoul metropolitan area in both the number of ticket reservations and ticket sales revenue. With 1,296,343 ticket reservations and about 101.7 billion won in ticket sales revenue, it far surpassed Daegu, which recorded 1,029,402 reservations and about 56.6 billion won in revenue. By number of performances and show counts, Busan ranked No. 2 after Daegu, but in terms of actual demand, it is the largest market outside the Seoul metropolitan area. The report noted that the difference in ticket sales revenue between Busan and Daegu was more pronounced than the difference in the number of ticket reservations, analyzing this as a result of “many performances with higher ticket prices.” Two Busan performances also made it onto the list of the top 20 performances in the popular music genre: PSY Drenched Show SUMMERSWAG and Cirque du Soleil KOOZA, both of which were large-scale performances.
This means Busan is not simply a city where many performances are held, but a city where large-scale performances actually sell. From the perspective of planning a concert tour, this is an important difference. A city with many performances and a city where tickets sell even at high prices carry different meanings. The fact that three HYBE-affiliated teams chose Busan in the same year is not unrelated to the data showing that the city is a proven market next to Seoul.
If BTS’ Busan concert carried special meaning by coinciding with the group’s debut anniversary, BOYNEXTDOOR and ENHYPEN’s Busan concerts are notable in that they will fill the same city and the same venue just one week apart. They are concerts with different meanings, but they share the common point of being choices made on the same data.
