ONF MINKYUN shared the group’s chemistry with producer HWANG HYUN.

 

ONF held a showcase at Sangam Cube Convention Center on the 17th to commemorate the release of the 2nd part of its 2nd full-length album 'ONF:MY SELF.' On this day, MINKYUN said, “Because the picture Producer HWANG HYUN and we were drawing was the same, we were always able to work well together.”

 

Regarding working with producer HWANG HYUN, WYATT said, “Producer HWANG HYUN, who has been with us for more than 10 years until now, joined us again this time,” adding, “When we said we were making a new start, we had quite a lot of worries, but he said so naturally that he would do it with us that those worries felt unnecessary.” He added, “I think that is why this album was able to come out so well,” and “I would like to take this opportunity to say thank you so much.”

 

SEUNGJUN said, “As we have worked with Producer HWANG since our debut for a long time, we have shared everything with him, from difficult stories and good stories to sad stories and even small stories, so I think that makes the songs feel more sincere and contain more genuine feelings,” adding, “If possible, I hope we can continue to draw an even more wonderful narrative for ONF together.” MINKYUN said, “Because the picture Producer HWANG HYUN and we were drawing was the same, we were always able to work well together,” adding, “I think it will continue to be that way in the future.”

 

Behind-the-scenes stories about all members’ participation in the album were also revealed. SEUNGJUN said, “WYATT and MINKYUN participated in writing lyrics and composing, E-TION also gave many opinions related to costume production, and U gave many opinions related to performance, so this album was created with all of our members taking part in many aspects overall.” WYATT added, “In SEUNGJUN’s case, he also looked after a lot on the vocal side and gave many recommendations about what points would be good to highlight during recording.”

 

U, who was in charge of the main performance directing, said, “Since this is a new start, I thought a lot about how we could show an even cooler stage.” Regarding the secret to their performance, he said, “We are studying a lot in line with trends, and as we tried it all together, everyone also exercised a lot during their personal time, so when we practiced, I really felt like it was the same as when we debuted,” adding, “I think that no matter what kind of performance we do in the future, we will be able to deliver a cool performance.”

 

WYATT said, “Thanks to U and member SEUNGJUN holding the center well, we were able to keep practicing more even when it was hard,” adding, “In U’s case, he would practice one hour more, and in SEUNGJUN’s case, he would practice more alone. When we see that, we have no choice but to follow.” MINKYUN said, “The common mindset among all the members is, ‘Let’s not make excuses,’” adding, “We just do it first. We try it, and if it is hard, we do more, and we work two or three times harder, so I think we do not create anything to make excuses about.”

 

ONF, which debuted in August 2017, has built a distinctive musical world with unique music and powerful performances through songs such as 'We Must Love,' 'Beautiful Beautiful,' and 'Moscow Moscow,' earning the modifier “a trusted source of great songs.” With Part 1 of its 2nd full-length album, 'ONF: MY IDENTITY,' released in February last year, the group recorded 111,789 copies in initial chodong sales, breaking its own initial chodong record. With the title track 'The Stranger,' ONF achieved its first No. 1 on a terrestrial music show on KBS2’s Music Bank, while the music video surpassed 10 million views in just two days after release, continuing meaningful achievements.

 

This 2nd part of ONF’s 2nd full-length album, 'ONF:MY SELF,' continues the narrative of Part 1 and contains a story of choosing oneself at the end of a journey. It includes a total of six tracks, including the title track 'Open The Door,' and captures ONF’s unique identity, with leader SEUNGJUN participating in the overall album planning, U in performance directing, and WYATT and MINKYUN in writing lyrics and composing.

ONF’s 2nd full-length album Part 2 'ONF:MY SELF' will be released through various online music sites at 6 PM on this day. Attention is focused on what new step ONF will take with this album.
