DAY6 WONPIL successfully concluded his solo concert amid fans’ enthusiastic cheers.

From May 1 to 3, WONPIL held his solo concert ‘WONPIL SOLO CONCERT ‘Unpiltered’’ at Jamsil Indoor Stadium in Songpa-gu, Seoul for three days.

This concert marked his first solo concert in approximately 4 years and 2 months since his first standalone concert ‘Pilmography’ in March 2022, and proved his ticket power by selling out all seats for every show.

A warm voice carried through sweet ‘piano’ melodies and instrumental sounds

As a member of DAY6 and unit DAY6 (Even of Day), as well as a solo artist, WONPIL, who has long delivered rich emotions and a warm voice through his music, carefully presented a musical filmography filled with his unique color. Together with a live band session, he opened with ‘Toxic Love,’ followed by performances of ‘Already Grown Up,’ ‘Pieces,’ ‘Sincerity,’ and ‘Unpainted canvas,’ showcasing his signature sorrowful yet comforting tone. He also delivered excitement to listeners with soft vocals that blended with the seasonal atmosphere during stages for ‘Walk with me,’ ‘Someday, spring will come,’ ‘Landed,’ and ‘Home Alone.’ In ‘축가’ and ‘So, this is Love,’ which highlighted his sweet voice, he charmed the audience with adorable dance moves that filled the venue with happiness.

In particular, WONPIL captivated attention when he appeared above the audience, surrounded by sparkling lights from all directions, playing the keyboard during the ‘piano’ stage. The fantastical production, as though drifting among the stars, combined with the vocal performance unfolding high above the sweet piano melodies, drew admiration and created an unforgettable highlight. He then performed DAY6’s beloved songs ‘Like a Flowing Wind’ and ‘You Were Beautiful’ with piano accompaniment and his voice, leaving a unique lingering impression, while ‘Last goodbye’ and ‘Voiceless’ moved listeners’ hearts with lyrical emotion.

Romance and sincerity delivered with all his strength, though not ‘a million flowers’

His delicate effort to connect with each audience member further heightened immersion throughout the concert. During the performance of ‘Hold My Love,’ where red flower petal confetti fluttered through the air, he created a romantic atmosphere by taking out lisianthus flowers, whose flower meaning symbolizes unchanging love, during the performance. Throughout the sequence of ‘ Stranded,’ ‘ A writer in a love story,’ and ‘Wish,’ he communicated with the audience through eye contact and sincerely conveyed his heartfelt feelings toward fans.

To ensure that his voice and sincerity could reach even more people, JYP ENTERTAINMENT created a barrier-free environment for audience members with hearing impairments during this solo concert. In collaboration with the non-profit organization HearCycle, they introduced an assistive listening system (Auracast) transmitter and receiver that can transmit audio to receivers without spatial limitations. As the first implementation of such an assistive listening system by a domestic entertainment company, it is expected to improve the authenticity of sustainable management while bringing meaningful changes to concert accessibility.

‘Becoming a writer in a novel,’ the continuing music story WONPIL will write

Following the captivating and intense contrasting charm of ‘Highs and Lows’ and ‘Up All Night,’ WONPIL heightened the atmosphere to its peak with ‘A Journey,’ harmonizing together with the audience. Toward the end of the concert, WONPIL warmly greeted fans while moving across every part of the stage with a bright smile, and even until the final moment before the curtain closed, he tried to take in the audience with his eyes, conveying his deep affection for fans. The crowd responded with loving cheers, and the venue overflowed with warmth and overwhelming emotion more than ever before.

After concluding the concert with ‘Step by Step,’ WONPIL shared, “Thank you sincerely for being such a great source of strength for me again today. I’m meaningful and happy to be able to hold my second solo concert at Jamsil Indoor Stadium, a venue filled with many memories. Thank you to My Day, who helped me the most by my side so that I could grow. From my solo album to this concert, I think these will become unforgettable moments in my life. I’m happy to share those moments together, and I’m grateful that you came into my life. I will continue to repay you with good music and good performances.” His remarks raised anticipation for the new musical stories he will continue to write in the future.

Having successfully wrapped up his solo concert as a solo artist amid fans’ passionate cheers, WONPIL will continue his global activities through performances as part of DAY6’s debut 10th anniversary tour ‘DAY6 10th Anniversary Tour < The DECADE >.’ The tour will continue in Macau on the 9th, Busan on the 16th–17th, and Kobe on June 20–21.
