Group P1Harmony (Keeho, Theo, Jiung, Intak, Soul, Jongseob) is made a comeback with a new album full of bold confidence.

 

At 6 PM of the 8th, P1Harmony released the full tracklist of their 8th mini album DUH! along with the music video for the title track of the same name through various music platforms.

 

Their new album DUH! playfully captures P1Harmony’s overflowing confidence. It tells the story of unique heroes, P1Harmony, who go on strike after being told they’re not needed, and instead do as they please.

 

The title track DUH! is an old-school hip-hop song with lyrics that assert, “The seat I sit on, the path I walk, that’s the answer.” The word “DUH” is an English expression with the nuance of “Who’s that successful person? Obviously, me! Why even ask?” and is used in the lyrics to intuitively convey the theme of the album.

 

In addition to the title track, the album includes songs of various genres and themes such as Pretty Boy, Murmur, Flashy, Over And Over, and Work. The members have been credited on all tracks and even participated in the performance aspects, showcasing a stronger and more distinct color unique to P1Harmony.

 

On the 7th, P1Harmony held a “Free Live Stage” at Banpo Hangang Park’s Dalbit Plaza in Seoul and met with fans. They premiered performances of the new title track DUH! and the B-side Pretty Boy, raising anticipation to its peak. Riding this momentum, the group plans to carry out active promotions.

 

Below is a Q&A where P1Harmony shares their thoughts on the comeback with mini 8th album DUH!.

 

Q1. How do you feel about making a comeback with your 8th mini album DUH!?

 

Keeho: It’s our first comeback in 8 months, so I’m really excited and full of anticipation! We worked really hard on this album, so I hope we can create lots of new and special memories with P1ece.

 

Theo: Since it’s been a while, I’m looking forward to building many good memories.

 

Jiung: It’s a mix of excitement and nervousness. But since we’ve worked so hard, I plan to just enjoy it to the fullest.

 

Intak: Since we’re coming back with a new genre, I’m even more excited for our activities! I hope it becomes a great opportunity to reach more people!

 

Soul: I know P1ece has been waiting a long time for this comeback, so I hope we can enjoy and have a great time together!

 

Jongseob: It’s been a while since our last comeback, and there are many exciting elements like our self-composed songs in this album. We put a lot of thought into it, so I hope everyone enjoys it.

 

Q2. The theme of a “Hero Strike” is quite bold. Can you explain the concept of this album?

 

Keeho: Our previous album SAD SONG was about a hero’s sadness and loneliness, but this one flips the script. It asks, “You really don’t need us? Even though we’re such cool heroes?”, it’s an album packed with confidence.

 

Intak: I think this album shows P1Harmony’s stronger confidence. The idea of a hero strike is like saying, “If you don’t want us, then we’ll go on strike! If you do want us, come back and find us!” That’s the vibe we went for.

 

Soul: We’ve prepared an album where you can see a confident P1Harmony boldly shouting, “You don’t need us? We’re such cool heroes though!”

 

Jongseob: It connects with our previous albums and carries on P1Harmony’s signature hero concept. It playfully captures what happens after peace is restored and the world starts to forget about its heroes.

 

Q3. In the previous album SAD SONG, you introduced a fresh twist by mixing in the Latin genre. Was there any new musical attempt with the title track DUH!?

 

Keeho: If SAD SONG was our take on Latin, this time we tried old-school hip-hop. Since it’s a genre that’s both iconic and familiar, we asked ourselves, “How can we infuse it with P1Harmony’s flavor to make it feel new?” I think we managed to express a lot of our own color in this track.

 

Theo: It’s our first time trying the old-school hip-hop genre. That alone makes it a fresh challenge.

 

Jiung: The track has a heavy, grounded feel, so I tried to use a deeper vocal tone. In the “Duh” part, I focused less on sounding pretty and more on delivering the right attitude and vibe.

 

Q4. What should we look out for in your performance on stage?

 

Theo: Soul’s freestyle dance in the final chorus is definitely a highlight. Please keep an eye out for it!

 

Jiung: For the title track, we each incorporated our own gestures and choreography. If you look closely at each member’s unique movements, it’ll be a fun detail to notice.

 

Soul: There’s a part that directly reflects the lyrics of DUH!, it’s a point dance, so please watch for it!

 

Jongseob: Personally, the chorus choreography left the biggest impression on me, so I hope people focus on the moves in that section.

 

Q5. The members participated in this album’s production again. What aspect did you pay the most attention to during the creation process?

 

Keeho: I focused a lot on the overall concept and visual aspects. Since old-school hip-hop is so iconic, we figured people would expect a certain look and style. We wanted to avoid being too cliché and instead styled ourselves in a way that was true to P1Harmony while interpreting the genre in a fresh way.

 

Jiung: Since we do a lot of live shows, we were mindful of making songs that would work well on stage. We also tried to write songs that would let each member shine.

 

Intak: I took part in writing lyrics for all the songs, so I worked on creating unique flows and lines that I could express well with my voice.

 

Jongseob: While composing Work, I had to understand a new genre, so I studied a lot, from mixing to melody writing—to bring the right feeling to life. We worked hard to bring diverse genres to this album, so I hope everyone listens and enjoys!

 

Q6. Aside from the title track, which B-side do you have the most affection for?

 

Keeho: I love Pretty Boy, which I worked on. I didn’t originally make it to be on the album, but it turned out well, and the members liked it, so I’m grateful it made it in. That’s why I’m especially fond of it.

 

Theo: For me, it’s Work. It was my first time encountering this genre.

 

Jiung: It changes often, but lately I’ve been most attached to Flashy. My excitement for performances has gone up again, and I think this song will really shine on stage.

 

Intak: Pretty Boy fits my style the most. It’s got that charm that makes you want to dance the moment you hear it!

 

Soul: Work. It’s a self-composed track by Jongseob, and the sound is great. It feels like the kind of music you’d hear in a trendy clothing store.

 

Jongseob: I feel most attached to Work, which I composed. It has an upbeat rhythm, and the members’ vocals give it a different vibe from our usual B-sides.

 

Q7. What goals do you hope to achieve with this comeback?

 

Keeho: As always, I hope we can win 1st place. But more importantly, I’d love to make more precious memories with P1ece.

 

Theo: I hope all the members stay safe and that we can create great memories together.

 

Jiung: My goal is to show as many amazing performances as we can without any injuries or exhaustion among the members.

 

Intak: Billboard Top 5? You have to set your goals high!

 

Soul: I want to make sure more people know just how cool P1Harmony is.

 

Jongseob: I hope more people listen to and enjoy our album. I also really want to meet more P1ece and have fun on stage during this promotion.

 

Q8. Lastly, any words for P1ece around the world who have been waiting for your comeback?

 

Keeho: Thank you for waiting so long! We worked really hard on this album, so we’d be grateful if you give it lots of love. Let’s make amazing memories again this comeback!
