OO듀스 101 [OOdyuseu 101]

A game to vote to decide the 11 favorite aspects of the favorite idol

 

OOdyuseu 101 is a game in which 11 of the 101 most favorite images are chosen for voting. This is a parody of Mnet’s audition program ‘Produce 101,’ and it is one of the contents that fans are excited about since the process of revealing 101 candidates, as well as the video showing the ranking after voting, are in the same format as the program. The name of the favorite idol is typically contained in OO.

고독방 [godokbang]

A chatroom where the communication is only done with images

 

The term godokbang is the abbreviation of ‘godokhan OObang’ meaning a chat room where you talk with only pictures without saying a word. OO contains the name of the favorite member or artist with whom the photo is shared. Talking in the chat room is prohibited, and if you violate this, you will be forced to leave the chat room. In 2018~2019, when godokbang was in full swing, frequently the artist or celebrities entered his godokbang and posted pictures.

B: I got it from godokbang. I love it since dozens of my bias’s photos are uploaded in a day.

 


덕질투어 [deokjiltueo]

Visiting the place related to my bias

 

The term deokjiltueo refers to visiting a place related with my bias. The deokjiltueo targets the stores or attractions visited by the bias, or locations visited for the aim of ‘deokjil.’ The deokjiltueo is a common activity among K-pop fans when they meet other K-pop fans.

A: Do you want to go to SEVENTEEN deokjiltueo this weekend?

B: Yes! Let’s go to the BBQ restaurant where the members went.

 


맛집해시 [matjipaesi]

Hashtag for sharing good restaurants for specific artists and their fans

 

matjipaesi is an abbreviation for ‘masjip gongyu haesitaegeu’ and is a hashtag used by certain artist and their fans to share good restaurants. Matjipaesi is usually determined by fans, however, it is sometimes decided by artists as well. The purpose of using the hashtag is to share your restaurant reviews with the artists and other fans.

예절샷 [yejeolsyat]

A photo taken together with the food and the photocard of the artist

 

yejeolsyat is a combination term of ‘예절’ ([yejeol] etiquette) and ‘shot,’ an English word for photography, which means a photo of food and an artist's photocard together. yejeolsyat originated from ‘Twitter Etiquette,’ a culture that is taking photos of food and sharing them on Twitter, and K-pop fans developed yejeolsyat by taking photos of the photocards of their favorite artists with food.
