[Hanteo News = Reporter KANG SUYOUNG] SF9’s INSEONG revealed the goal for the group’s latest comeback.

 

SF9 held a showcase for the release of its 2nd full-length album ‘TENACITY’ at Cube Convention Center on the 26th. On this day, INSEONG said, “We really want to win No. 1 on a music show.”

 

Asked about the goal for this promotion, INSEONG said, “We really want to win No. 1 on a music show, and we also want to be No. 1 in the hearts of reporters,” adding, “Your likes and comments give us great strength.” He continued, “We are dreaming a really big dream,” adding, “I heard Wembley Stadium can hold 50,000 to 100,000 people, and we have a goal of definitely holding an SF9 concert there someday.”

 

Asked about the original mindset and thirst they have maintained since debut, CHANI said, “I think the eldest members created a warm atmosphere where they took good care of us, so we try to protect that atmosphere,” adding, “The thirst we have is to hold a solo concert with many fans at a large venue.” YOUNGBIN said, “We will run hard so that we can soar even without wings,” pledging, “We will work hard during this promotion by running with our feet and running with everything we can run with.”

 

Regarding what they wanted to show through this album, INSEONG said, “Although we are a team, we wanted to show that each of us has also become an excellent musician as an individual,” adding, “We wanted to show that when each of us pulls off this music, we have become artists who can lead it sufficiently on our own.” DAWON said, “I still do not think we have reached the level of results we want,” adding, “We cannot help but care about the scale of our performances or our results, and because we had that thirst, I think we were able to keep going until now and can continue to aim for better goals going forward.”

 

They also shared the process behind choosing the title track. INSEONG said, “Recently, Afrobeats has become a popular genre not only in K-POP but around the world, and we felt that ‘Without Wings’ could be stylishly matched with our members’ visuals and vocal styles, so we chose it.” HWIYOUNG drew laughter at the scene by saying, “I thought the choreography and music of the title track would suit us well if we looked visually pale, so I tried to look sick and weak, and I also worked hard on my diet.”

 

They also previewed their upcoming 10th anniversary concert. CHANI said, “We are trying to pack in everything we have built over the past 10 years, and I think you will be able to see the fiery passion of a more mature SF9.” JAEYOON said, “We are preparing to capture the records of the past 10 years well, and I will give a spoiler by saying that I hope many people come and share memories from our debut until now together.”

 

SF9, which debuted in October 2016, has steadily maintained its presence with its broad ability to pull off various concepts and solid performances. At the 30th Hanteo Music Awards 2022, the group won the Global Artist Award in the China category, recognizing its popularity overseas as well.

 

The 2nd full-length album ‘TENACITY’ is an album that looks back on the past 10 years and tells the story of moving forward as the group marks its 10th debut anniversary. The album title ‘TENACITY’ means “perseverance, determination, and indomitable will,” while also containing “TEN,” symbolizing the group’s 10th debut anniversary. The album consists of songs that capture SF9’s musical journey and promise for the future, including the title track ‘Without Wings.’

 

SF9’s 2nd full-length album ‘TENACITY’ will be released at 6 PM on this day. The group’s highest initial chodong sales record to date is 179,666 copies, achieved by its 12th mini album ‘THE PIECE OF9,’ released in January 2023. Attention is focused on whether SF9, returning with a renewed will for its 10th anniversary, will be able to break that record with this album.
