ITZY’s YUNA will release her solo debut album and title track ‘Ice Cream’ today (23rd).
YUNA will unveil her first solo album ‘Ice Cream’ and the title track of the same name on March 23 at 6 p.m., becoming ITZY’s second solo artist following YEJI. Since debuting with ITZY in 2019, YUNA has stood out with her endless charm and signature bright, positive energy. Through this solo debut, she aims to establish a new identity as a solo artist and expand her activities.
YUNA’s solo debut track ‘Ice Cream’, which lifts the fresh veil of spring, is a bubbly and addictive bubblegum pop song. It delivers the message: “Like ice cream melting sweetly, let’s not miss this moment and enjoy it to the fullest,” bringing vitality to listeners. The music video was directed by Yoon Seung-rim of Legend Film, highlighting YUNA’s polished visuals and fluid dance lines.
The album includes a variety of tracks, offering diverse listening experiences. Along with the title track ‘Ice Cream’, it features ‘B-Boy’, which captures a free-spirited mood, ‘Blue Maze’, which deeply portrays soft and dreamy moments of love, and ‘Hyper Dream’, which conveys the message “Let’s dive into a dream world together” over dramatic and glamorous sound layering.
ITZY’s “golden maknae” YUNA is expected to further drive the popularity of ‘THAT'S A NO NO’, which has recently been gaining traction across various SNS platforms. ‘THAT'S A NO NO’ is a B-side track from ITZY’s mini album ‘IT'z ME’, released in March 2020, and its performance was first unveiled during their world tour ‘ITZY 3RD WORLD TOUR <TUNNEL VISION>’, which began in February. The enthusiastic response from concert audiences continued online, and ITZY appeared on Mnet ‘M COUNTDOWN’ on the 19th to perform ‘THAT'S A NO NO’, responding to fans’ support.
Amid the rising popularity of ‘THAT'S A NO NO’, nicknamed ‘Daechu NO NO, which has seen soaring video views across social media channels and a reverse climb on music charts, expectations are high for YUNA, who possesses visuals, skills, and charm, to carry this momentum into her solo debut.
Ahead of the official release of her solo mini album ‘Ice Cream’ at 6 p.m. on the 23rd, YUNA will hold a countdown live at 5 p.m. on the same day to celebrate her solo debut with fans worldwide, MIDZY (MIDZY, fandom name).
