Group MEOVV (SOOIN, GAWON, ANNA, NARIN, ELLA) is leading the challenge craze.

 

On April 28 (Monday), MEOVV released their pre-release track ‘HANDS UP’ and has since collaborated with numerous artists to carry out the challenge. ‘HANDS UP’ is a Brazilian funk genre track that blends a fast and flashy rhythm with a distinctive synth sound. It was pre-released ahead of their first EP ‘MY EYES OPEN VVIDE’ which dropped on the 12th (Monday), and it received an explosive response.

 

The ‘HANDS UP’ challenge is centered around point choreography that uses the hands in accordance with the lyrics, allowing the viewer to feel the intense and rapid progression of the song in a short time.

 

Many artists have participated in MEOVV’s ‘HANDS UP’ challenge. From TAEYANG, G-DRAGON, to DAESUNG—all members of BIGBANG joined in with a unique 3-member, 3-color version of the challenge. In addition, SUPER JUNIOR’s SHINDONG, EXO’s KAI, RED VELVET’s SEULGI, TWICE’s MOMO, JEON SOMI, (G)I-DLE’s MINNIE, BOYNEXTDOOR’s MYUNG JAEHYUN, CAT'S EYE, dancers REDLIC, BATA, and RII JUNG—artists renowned for their top-tier performance skills—also joined, heating up the trend.

 

Furthermore, the artists each showcased different sections of the challenge, appealing deeply to fans. From playful renditions of the point choreography to reinterpretations of the dance break section, each variation highlighted the multifaceted charm of the ‘HANDS UP’ performance.

 

Meanwhile, MEOVV released their first EP ‘MY EYES OPEN VVIDE’ on the 12th (Monday), unveiling the track and music video for the title song ‘DROP TOP’, which was met with enthusiastic praise for its fresh style. With the pre-released double title track ‘HANDS UP’, MEOVV climbed the digital music charts and even claimed 1st place on their first music show. The group is expected to continue their active promotions with ‘DROP TOP’.
