Girl group MEOVV has made a comeback. With the support of hit producer Teddy, they are determined to showcase a different image from other teams.

 

MEOVV (SOOIN, GAWON, ANNA, NARIN, ELLA) held a media showcase for the release of their first EP ‘MY EYES OPEN VVIDE’ on the 12th at SBS Prism Tower in Sangam-dong, Mapo-gu, Seoul.

 

Previously, they signaled a strong start by winning first place on Mnet’s ‘M Countdown’ on March 28 with their pre-release single ‘(HANDS UP)’. Regarding this, the members said, “We’re grateful and happy that people liked a song we poured so much affection and effort into preparing,” and added, “We’re happy that the song, which carries the message of boldly paving our own path, reached No.1. We’re thankful to our fans.”

 

They also shared their excitement about the comeback. GAWON said, “Our team’s goal is to present a unique image in a way that is true to MEOVV, and I think we can show that through our first EP, so I’m looking forward to it.” ANNA added, “I’m happy that we could make our comeback with songs we’ve prepared since our trainee days, and I hope our new songs will receive a lot of love.”

 

ELLA said, “Preparing for this album, we were really busy, but I also learned how to do things well,” expressing her determination to show her potential through these promotions. NARIN also said, “I’m very attached to this and I think it’ll remain in my memory. I’m excited because I believe we’ll be able to showcase a variety of music and charms.” SOOIN added, “I’m happy that we’ll get to meet our fans more often.”

 

They then introduced the title track ‘DROP TOP’, which sensibly captures the members of MEOVV moving forward toward the world with their own perspectives. It’s a pop song that starts off calm and builds into a breezy ROCK-infused sound. Member GAWON participated in the lyric-writing, enhancing the song’s quality.

 

GAWON said, “It was the first song we recorded as trainees for our team’s music,” and added, “It’s the song we’ve worked on the longest.” She continued, “Freedom is the key message, it’s about this moment being the hottest and enjoying it just the way it is,” and shared, “I remember writing the lyrics while thinking about the time spent with the members.”

Regarding the point choreography, NARIN explained, “There are many simple and easy-to-follow moves. The choreography visually expresses the lyrics, with gestures like freely driving and hip greeting motions being the key points. There’s also a move where you draw a big star, and the key is to draw it as big and confidently as possible.”

 

In addition to ‘DROP TOP’, the album includes the second dual title track ‘BODY’, ‘TOXIC’, and an unreleased B-side track ‘LIT RIGHT NOW’, all of which bring different vibes. GAWON and NARIN participated in the lyric-writing for ‘TOXIC’ and ‘LIT RIGHT NOW’, enhancing the album’s completeness.

 

The members said, “Through this album, we plan to move into a deeper and wider musical world,” and added, “It’s an album that presents a single universe, and we hope you focus on us as we soar higher.”

 

Producer Teddy also participated in this album. ANNA said, “When recording or filming the music video, he told us that to get good results, we have to do it as much as we want,” and added, “We’re grateful that he gave us so many opportunities.”

 

Meanwhile, MEOVV’s debut first EP ‘MY EYES OPEN VVIDE’ will be released on various music platforms at 6 PM today.
