Group PENTAGON earned the honor of the 1st place of the artist the fans support the most on 'Road to Kingdom' with the ardent support of the fans around the world.
From June 9th to June 11th, 'Whosfan,' the global K-pop fandom platform, ran a poll with the topic, "Which artist do you support the most on 'Road to Kingdom'?." PENTAGON, ONF, THE BOYZ, ONEUS, VERIVERY, and TOO, the groups who are appearing on the show, were nominated in the poll.
Even though the poll did not affect the result of the 'Road to Kingdom,' the fans of each artists fiercely competed in the poll. Among the nominees, PENTAGON placed 1st with the 34.93% of the votes.
Debuted on October 10th, 2016 and celebrating the 5th year since debut, PENTAGON established themselves as the talented idols with the 2018 release of 'Shine' which climbed up the digital music chart. Through the song, the public acknowledged the group's producing skills and the unique color of the group. The music video of PENTAGON's 'Shine' surpassed 1 million views as of November 30th, 2018 as well.
Afterwards, PENTAGON promoted with the songs that leader Hui worked on, and one or more members participate in the lyrics of the B-side tracks in the albums, widening the spectrum of PENTAGON's music.
Based on such experiences, PENTAGON is fully demonstrating their capability in Mnet's 'Road to Kingdom.' They showcased an unrivaled performance in the 90-second performance stage with the musical-like story line which started with the intro of 'Shine,' and their performance of Block B's 'Very Good', arranged and performed with the inspiration from the movie 'Mad Max: Fury Road,' also garnered attention.
In 'My Song,' the 2nd contest of Mnet' s 'Road to Kingdom,' they performed a stage that's meaningful to both themselves and the fans. Moving the audience with the stage that mashed up 'Shine' and 'Spring Snow,' they demonstrated the high-quality performance and killed two birds with one stone.
In the 3rd contest, they collaborated and demonstrated strong synergy with ONF and showed off the producing skills of Hui, and they continued to capture the viewers attention by recreating MONSTA X's 'FOLLOW' in their own style with the outfits that remind of ancient Egypt.
Many fans are anticipating the next steps that PENTAGON wil take after demonstrating the ability through Mnet's 'Road to Kingdom' everyday. The public is also looking forward to the final winner of the final contest.
Mnet's 'Road to Kingdom' the final episode will air at 8 PM next Thursday (18th). The final contest will be live-broadcasted globally, and there will be global real-time voting on 'Whosfan' in adddition to the Korean SMS voting in real-time.
