Group GFRIEND has set off a successful comeback signal.
GFRIEND's 'Apple' was voted 1st in the poll, 'Which artist and song do you support the most in the 4th week of July?' ran by the global K-pop fandom platform 'Whosfan' from July 17th to July 20th.
In this poll, there were 29 artists who have been actively promoting in the month of July nominated in the poll and heated up the reaction from the fans all over the world. Among the nominees, GFRIEND claimed 30.14% of the votes and claimed the glory of the 1st place.
GFRIEND's new release '回:Song of the Sirens' has garnered a lot of attention with a clearly different concept from the ones that GFRIEND has shown so far. The title track 'Apple' is a song about a girl being swayed by the whisper of temptation, and it's the first song of GFRIEND with the retro vibe. Member Eunha participated in the songwriting and Yuju and Eunha in lyrics, which also garnered more attention.
In this poll, Red Velvet-IRENE&SEULGI's 'Monster,' which was also ranked in the higher ranks in the last poll, and EXO-SC (Sehun & Chanyeol)'s '1 Billion Views' ranked 2nd and 3rd, respectively. The percentage of the total votes of the two artists were 24.31% and 20.88%, and the two artists closely competed until the end of the poll.
As the reward for this poll to the artists in the rankings, Whosfan with yapTV will broadcast video ads that are worth about 50 million won. The ads can be seen on the monitors in Seoul Buses and will be broadcasted from July 22nd to July 28th.
